Smitty’s Indy Marine Company is a family owned and operated business that has been serving the wholesale and retail boat community in the Indianapolis area for fifty years.
Located at 4979 Massachusetts Avenue, Smitty’s is easily accessible from I-465 via Pendleton Pike, and also from I-70 via Emerson Avenue.
Smitty, Charlie Smith, founded the business in the fifties and passed his craft and business along to his children (8 boys and 3 girls) who all worked at “The Shop” at one time or another. Today, you can still find son Rick as well as Charlie’s grandson Steve, running the family store.
No one has the experience or expertise that the Smith Family, along with Upholsterer John Moore, has in making your old boat look like new or maintaining your new purchase. Counting only the youngest three craftsman, you are still getting nearly ninety years of knowledge between them.
